They’re compiling coupons from all of their local stores to see which store has the best price of what product and how many units are in stock. Then when Thanksgiving comes, they take their meal to go so they can start camping out outside of their thoroughly researched store so they can be first in line to save a few hundred dollars on their new TV. Dozens of hours and weeks of preparation just to save a few hundred dollars. Shaking head I strongly believe that if people were this focused and spent this much energy on building wealth or starting a business I don’t think 50% of America would have less than one month’s salary in saving. What do you think? Don’t be the majority. The second type of Black Friday shopper are what I call your casual bargainers. These are people who want to get some good deals, but they don’t research what or where they can get the deals. They just show up hoping to find something good. The problem is, these are the people that usually get to the sales late and aren’t happy when all the deals are gone. That usually results in things like this, or this, and this. All of this, just to save a few bucks on usually some non-essential things. I know I stress the importance of budgeting, but this isn’t how budgeting is supposed to work. And third, you have the observer. These are the people that go to shop on Friday with their friends or family just for the experience. If they find something, they’ll get it, but other wise they’re going for the show. Plus, these are the people that understand that cyber Monday is 3 days after Black Friday, and you can get a lot of similar deals on Amazon without the fighting.
